MOVIE REVIEW: THE WEDDING RINGER

Image
This is a show for the foreveralone, Doug Harris ( Josh Gad ) will be marrying the lady of his dreams, Gretchen Palmer ( Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting ). 2 weeks before his marriage, he has no best man or friends. So he hired Jimmy Callahan ( Kevin Hart ) CEO of Best Man Inc, a company which provides flattering best man for socially challenged guys in need.  THE GOOD The show is for the light hearted, lots of humours and also much bromance moments. The storyline sync perfectly with the havoc that is created by Kevin Hart and Josh Gad. These two clowns seems like they have been friend even before the show started filming. You can see lots of bromance and natural moments as we progress through the show. Kevin Hart single handedly carried the movie as his characteristic is simply natural for the movie.  THE BAD Like every other romance comedy, the end are much predictable. Besides that, they are some loopholes in the movie especially with Kevin Hart disguising to the be...

TOP 5 MALAYSIAN CINEMA HABIT - ROUND 2

Image
So when I posted the top Malaysian habits in the cinema part 1 (READ HERE) , seems like I have gotten some comments over on Facebook concerning some missing habits which I did not cover, so here is the second round of Malaysian habit in the cinema 1. The Loud One Ahhh how can I forget about this, maybe because I tend to be in this category once awhile and when I do (often) it is time to munch slower and quietly. There are some who seems to be able to munch as though they are eating the seats or their fucking phone. In no way you could ever imagine that popcorns can sound this loud what else in a hall so fucking huge. All you hear is OM NOM NOM NOM NOM and it keeps getting louder together with the sound of them digging into their popcorn. TOPKEK mate. It add the extra dimension when you are watching movie, all of a sudden you feel like a digging scene or eating scene is coming up. 2. The Silent One Tilting their ass and letting out a gas of destruction and confusion. This is a...

Image
As you know, I have PhD in Movies and Masters in Cinema Visits and that means I have done my research ample of times. Having to frequent lots of cinema gives you the chance to observe the many different behaviours of the patrons of cinemas in Malaysia. I will now write some of the epic ethics in cinema which I sincerely hope that Malaysians at least get their shit together for better cinema experience for everyone. Why top 8 you ask? Because top 10 is too mainstream and also  THIS IS A RAGE EDITION!  1. Chair Rocking Do not rock chair or chairs. A rocking chair is a fucking rocking chair no matter whoever chair it belongs to . The last thing I want when I am immersing myself in a movie is my chair felt like a fucking roller coaster. I meant seriously people, stop shaking that chair of yours, what are you doing bro? STAHP! Are you making out with that chair? #foreveralone. This shit happens mostly from a guy, happens lesser when a lady sits beside me. 2. Explanation Du...

MOVIE REVIEW: TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES

Image
For those like me, unker level. You will all remember that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle (TMNT) was a cartoon which airs in the morning at TV3 (those were the days of good cartoons). Fast forward to 2014, there is a movie directed by none other than the 'legendary' Michael Bay. The only actor that is famous or so I think is Megan Fox who plays April O'Neil in the movie. The ever ready reporter, Vernon Fenwick (Will Arnett) who is wishing to resurrect her dying career and also believes that there is a vigilante who is fighting the Foot Clan. She pairs up with  Will Arnett who plays the cameraman, Vernon Fenwick who is constantly hitting on April and hoping one day she falls for him. THE GOOD  The show is light at heart. If you just look pass the errors and common sense, you will find the show stupidly entertaining. The jokes are well not that bad and some of the part makes you go like "WOT?!". Other than that, the fighting scenes are good, lots of ninja s...

MOVIE REVIEW: HERCULES

Image
Legend tells a tale of a demi-god named Hercules (Dwayne Johnson) who is the son of Zeus. He is blessed with super strength and also blessed by the gods. Famed after his twelve labours and thus the legend is born or not. Hercules is a mercenary now and travel together with his crew of 6 (just roll with it). Hercules is then summon to help the King of Thrace defeating a tyrannical warlord. THE GOOD If fighting and bonding is what you come to see then this movie is for you. Hercules feature lots of fighting scene which make sense since it a movie about a demi-god during the olden days. You will also see leadership and lots of Hercules in action and his leadership skills. Humor along the way is also present in the movie as we witness Hercules and his crew carrying his legendary status to a whole new different level. THE BAD The story does not have any gods down and help Hercules or against him. This movie takes the approach of Hercules in a more realistic way without an...

MOVIE REVIEW: GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

Image
The Guardian of the Galaxy (GotG) was loved by many and I am currently one of them. Catch the movie on Friday night and already falling in love with the direction Marvel is heading. Nothing so serious like the previous Marvel movie this you will definitely fall in love with although you are not an avid comic fan with any knowledge towards GotG. In GotG, we follow the story of young human Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) who was kidnapped and raise as a thief with a nickname of Star-Lord.  Rocket (Bradley Cooper) and Groot (Vin Diesel) together with Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and Drax (Dave Baustista) all tag to kill Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace)  THE GOOD  Bunch of different character get taken into a roller coaster ride which makes you wonder will they last but they do and their friendship grew in this 121 minute movie. Lots of good vibes in the movie and also some serious action happening throughout the whole movie. You will be taken in a roller coaster ride of laugh...

MOVIE REVIEW: Bad Neighbours

Image
Like Channing Tatum, I have never expected Zac Efron to be act like a total dbag, since most of his movies are based on romance and singing, who would have known he made such a Bad Neighbour. Started of with a frat shifting into local community beside a married couple with one kid, all hell break loose when both of them tries to sabotage the other to get them kick out of the housing community. THE GOOD Started of with a normal greeting, quickly turn into a hilarious sabotage of neighbours, one trying to kick the frat community out of the housing area, meanwhile the other trying to show the old couple on HOW TO PARTY!  Lots of funny and also OUCH moments in the whole show. It surely kept me entertain and laughing throughout the whole movie. This show has lots of #bromance moment where all i can say "DEM FEELZ" THE BAD Something that I think throughout the whole show is how did a frat party get to rent a house in the housing community. I might not be ac...

MOVIE REVIEW: Godzilla

Image
For the longest time, Godzilla never had the best Hollywood rendition with the last being 1998 where the most prominent part of the movie I remember was the homeless guy who told his friend that he caught something while fishing and it turns out to be Godzilla which terrorize the city suddenly, all hell breaks loose. Fast forward to 2014, Hollywood once again try to bring Godzilla back to life with the cast of Aaron Taylor Johnson as Ford Brody, Bryan Cranston as Joe Brody, Ken Watanabe as Dr Ishiro and Elizabeth Olsen as the wife of Ford Brody, Elle Brody under the direction of Gareth Edwards. They succeed of making so far the best rendition of Godzilla that I have watched so far (not that watched that many, yet) THE GOOD Embark on an emotional train ride featuring Joe Brody as his tries to prove his sanity to his son and also the government that whatever took down the nuclear reactor and his wife's life years back is not a seismic wave like what the public thin...

MOVIE REVIEW: The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Image
Took me forever to write up this review on Spider-Man. All of a sudden work is pouring in and I am just being the lazy left this writing in the draft for a good 2 weeks. I am sorry, here it goes my 2 cents on the show. I remember watching the first Amazing Spider-Man and was amaze with the acting of Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy literally blew me off the usual  Tobey Maguire Spider-Man edition.  The villians are potrayed by Jamie Foxx as Maxx Dillion/Electro and also Dane Deehan as Harry Osborn/Green Goblin. Both played their character well with Electro probably introduced too much of a rush inside the show but beside that, everything seems like a on a good track for an epic movie of web slinging. THE GOOD  The costume for this movie is much better than the first, they have reworked it to look somehow very natural and also seems much more flexible for him to move around. The CG for the movie is much better too, they...

MOVIE REVIEW: Oculus

Image
Sunday is usually boring as f, as most of my friends gonna stay at home and brave the Monday blues therefore I was thinking, why not I handle the blues by scaring the shit out of me, thus Oculus (actually I was dragged to watch Oculus, truestory.jpg) It started with a new house and a freaking weird mirror. I meant I love antique but the antique that they bought probably through craiglist or lowyat.net seems to be the most weird mirror every.  Everything was happy when they begin shifting in and slowly suspense starts. The dad spends most of his time in his room with the mirror and slowly we see changes in the family. The mirror which believes to be cursed tends slowly intoxicated the mind of person which is close to its proximity and also the radius grows bigger as time passes. The entity in the mirror seems to latch on living beings and slowly poison the thoughts and destroy the memories eventually turning him/her into a vessel.  The kids in the family, on...
